Building Out Loud

Over the past few years, the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia has grown in meaningful ways. We have strengthened our governance, expanded our programs, and built a dedicated team committed to supporting people living with ALS and their families. As we look ahead, we know that the next phase of our work requires something just as important as growth: openness.

Building Out Loud is both the name of our new strategic vision and a commitment to how we move forward together. It reflects our belief that progress is stronger when it is shared. That means sharing not only our successes, but also our questions, our challenges, and the work happening behind the scenes.

This blog is a place for that transparency.

Through Building Out Loud, I will share updates about what is happening across the Society, our services, and our work toward a Centre of Excellence. Some posts will highlight progress and milestones. Others may offer insight into decisions we are navigating, priorities we are shaping, or changes we are preparing for. All of it is rooted in the same goal: keeping our community informed and connected.

People living with ALS, caregivers, volunteers, donors, and partners deserve to know how this organization is growing and why. You deserve to understand where resources are being directed, what we are advocating for, and how your support contributes to real impact across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Our 2025–2028 strategic vision challenges us to think bigger, act boldly, and build with intention. It focuses on expanding services, supporting caregivers, strengthening advocacy, growing a culture of philanthropy, and laying the foundation for a future Centre of Impact and Innovation. Achieving these goals will take time, collaboration, and trust.

That trust starts with communication.

This blog is one way we are choosing to build trust by building out loud. By sharing our journey as it unfolds, we hope to invite conversation, encourage connection, and remind our community that this work belongs to all of us.

Thank you for being here, for caring deeply about the ALS community, and for walking alongside us as we take the next steps forward.

We are just getting started.
